When Carlton Randall went to pick up his wife from the airport at the beginning of Amara Acquired (The Ojeda Chronicles Book 1) by Michel Prince, he did not expect his life to change dramatically. However, his wife's plane and three others, among them a military flight, never landed. They did not crash, they just disappeared without a trace. Carlton had to mourn his wife, and their daughter Molly grew up without a mother. But 13 years later, the plane turned up again and the captain requested landing as if nothing was wrong. Nobody on the plane looked a day older. Nobody remembered anything unusual - for now. Carlton, his girlfriend, and Molly all have different attitudes toward the return of Joss, who is just as confused as everyone else, especially when everyone around her suddenly stops remembering that other planes also went missing. Her memory started coming back in bursts. Memories of another man. Memories of children. Memories of another planet and memories of a war that is far from over.

I found Amara Acquired (The Ojeda Chronicles Book 1) by Michel Prince to be the most interesting read. The story is exciting and makes you want to learn more about the other planet and the conflicts on it. While readers do spend some time there with Joss, and later with another character, there are still many open-ended questions and a lot to explore, providing the potential for a sequel. The readers first learn more about Carlton (initially, I thought he'd be the protagonist), but then there was a shift to Joss's point of view. I'm not usually a fan of a change in the main characters unless it's epic fantasy, but in this case, it made sense and worked. The book is a good read for people who enjoy stories about mysterious plane disappearances with a dash of time travel and mysterious alien species.
