Alien Dream Machine is a unique sci-fi tale written by William X. Adams. Gunnar Hagen is a private investigator in Las Vegas who suffers from narcolepsy. After following a possible gambling cheat who frequents one of Las Vegas's most famous casinos, Gunnar gets the shock of his life when he discovers that his target is not human but an alien trying to keep his family afloat on Earth. The alien Phane and his partner Flooma are recovering drug addicts who have Vegas gangsters on their trail. Meanwhile, Gunnar starts a tumultuous affair with his sleep therapist, Dr. Phoebe Nyxon, although his heart beats for the Norwegian professor, Embla Tirsig. The stakes get higher when an alien community member dies while dealing with the mobsters. Can Gunnar find a way to protect himself and his friends?
At times, Alien Dream Machine reminds you of the 2011 Seth Rogen movie, Paul. Author William X. Adams tells a wacky tale of a narcoleptic private investigator's adventures with an alien family of recovering drug addicts that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The plot moves at a brisk pace and features colorful characters with distinct personalities that pop out of the pages. There is a lot of witty dialogue and circumstantial humor sprinkled throughout the pages to keep you thoroughly entertained. Be it the unpredictable aliens with their deadpan dialogue delivery or Dr. Phoebe Nyxon's eccentricities, each character brings their own set of idiosyncrasies. Anyone who's itching for a sci-fi novel filled with romance, humor, and suspense, should grab a copy of Alien Dream Machine.
