I do not play the guitar. I do have a lot of friends who do. Now I know which book to give them or suggest pertaining to the maintenance of their instruments. I had no idea of the care it takes to maintain a guitar. I have seen people throw them around, use them for clubs, and generally abuse them. Rarely have I seen anyone performing maintenance on one. Acoustic Guitar Care 101 by David A. Ogren is the perfect book to present to anyone who has a guitar. It will be especially useful to the beginner, someone who has a new guitar and wants to get the most out of it and help it to last a lifetime. If you plan on giving your son, daughter, or any talented young person a guitar, do them a favor and include this book with that guitar.
In Acoustic Guitar Care 101, David A. Ogren has broken the care of the guitar down into ten essential elements. He explains how to implement these elements in clear and concise passages that are easy to understand. He does not overwhelm the neophyte with too much information. Acoustic Guitar Care 101 is short and to the point. It is only 41 pages long, but if the guitar player wants to learn more, there is an extensive bibliography that explores just about anything to do with a guitar. It is evident that David A. Ogren knows a lot about guitars. Guitar owners everywhere will be happy he decided to share his knowledge. I plan to give this book to my son. I gave him the guitar a long time ago, but it’s never too late to learn how to properly take care of something you love.
