A Trembling of Finches is a work of fiction in the thriller and suspense subgenres and is the sequel to Dead Men Don’t Snore. It is suitable for the general reading audience and was penned by author David Cameron. The book continues the story of Gordon Bennet who is returning to England after his Spanish adventure in the previous installment. As Gordon helps his partner Gabriela adjust to life in England, the pair comes under threat once again as the lovers end up in the crosshairs of a dangerous conspiracy with people willing to kill to get what they want.

This was an exciting adventure through a well-realized version of Yorkshire, told through the eyes of an excellent point of view character in the form of Gabriela. There is a wonderful playfulness to author David Cameron’s juggling of threats ranging from a chance encounter with your partner’s ex-wife to fighting for your life as a deadly conspiracy threatens to take away the person you love. Having established Gordon and Gabriela previously, this new installment succeeds admirably in developing them further in new and interesting directions, pushing their characters to grow and building on the characters we already know. As the threats ramp up and the stakes rise to match them, the rollercoaster plot constantly keeps readers on the edge of their seats right up until the final page. Overall, A Trembling of Finches is an excellent sequel that finds new ground to cover with its narrative leading to a fresh story and dynamic new angle to get to know its protagonists.

A Trembling of Finches by David M Cameron is the story of an ex-military trained officer, Gordon Bennet, living in Spain with his Spanish girlfriend, Gabriela Morales. He planned a holiday for them at his home in England. Upon arrival in England, Gordon and Gabriela have an unplanned meeting with Gordon's ex-wife, Shelly, who is concerned about the disappearance of her husband, Paul. Paul had successfully prosecuted the case against renowned crime boss Marcus Spinx, and Sheely knew that Gordon was the only one who could help find Paul. Gordon leisurely starts looking for Paul, but to his dismay, he finds out that Paul's disappearance is more serious than he anticipated as more disappearances, deaths, and chaos ensues. While Gordon and Gabriela are now amongst the targets of the assailants, they also seem to be the only ones getting any closer to ending the killing spree as their holiday turns into a never-ending horror.

A Trembling of Finches by David M Cameron is an action-packed book that keeps readers on the edge of their seats with the most horrific acts of violence. The love and devotion between Gordon and Gabriela are awe-inspiring as they fearlessly protect each other while trying to exact revenge and help those caught in the crossfires. The multitude of characters is reminiscent of those seen in Hollywood blockbusters. A Trembling of Finches is fast-paced, gripping, and gruesome. The book is well-written, the images vivid, and the plot contemporary. A Trembling of Finches was an entertaining read.

After spending some time in Spain, ex-military officer and pro-mercenary Gordon Bennet returned to Leeds with his lover, Gabriela. The besotted duo only wanted to enjoy a holiday while he showed her his hometown. When Gordon’s ex-wife, Shelley, reported the disappearance of her partner, Paul, the world came tumbling down. Gordon and Gabriela got caught in the middle of two factions of criminal heavyweights going up against each other. Miroslav Bilyk and Marcus Spinx ran the town and crushed anyone who crossed their path. But now, they’ve taken something from Gordon and Gabriela by association. No one hurts Gordon without feeling his sting, but he was up against dangerous people. Would the two holidaymakers become Miroslav’s and Marcus’ nemesis? A Trembling of Finches by David M. Cameron rolls out the drama.

Trouble arrived in Leeds and left a disaster in its wake. A Trembling of Finches by David M. Cameron was an intense tale of survival. The story revolved around grief, loyalty, betrayal, crime, murder, love, and blood. I loved the plot, storyline, and development. The characters were also unforgettable, regardless of their roles in the novel. Power intoxicates, and the desperation to keep control could prove deadly. This novel made a detour into politics and the justice system; how lawyers, law enforcement officers, and even our elected officials have hidden personalities. However, my highlight of the book was Gordon, as he had nine lives! Gabriela also had a big heart, but she was a calm and raging storm if you could imagine that. I enjoyed reading this novel, and I hope David keeps writing.
