A Quick Guide to 21st Century US Politics by Ian Wilder is an unusual but interesting read for this kind of topic. The author is a student. However, his work is worthy of consideration because it summarizes aspects of US policy that every citizen should know. Wilder tackles topics such as Congress and its work, the Constitution and other important documents, Federal Agencies, elections, and women’s and minorities’ rights. It takes a look at controversial disputes such as the Second Amendment and the Border Wall. The list continues, but what is important to note is that Wilder has tried to offer an overview – and he has done it well.

A Quick Guide to 21st Century US Politics presents the basics of politics. Wilder’s aim is not to offer a book-length study but an agile handbook that invites you to learn more. His ideal readers are students and young adults. However, older readers who need to refresh their memories will benefit from it as well. Wilder has done a good job, and his book is consistent and well-researched. I invite readers to approach it seriously, but they should not expect to remain serious throughout their reading. Wilder resorts to humor and fun facts to make A Quick Guide to 21st Century US Politics easy to read. I appreciated this book because it is different from any other publication on the same subject. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn something new in a short time.
