A Parent's Guide For Journaling to Their Child: Simple Strategies for Writing Heartfelt Love Letters to Your Child by Roni Wing Lambrecht is a refreshing and unique journal written by a mother to her son, Dalton, before he was born. The story is poignant and heartrending because Dalton did not survive to read the beautiful words written by his mom. The book is a useful guide to all those who want to write love letters to their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or other loved ones and also teaches them to write one in return. The book helps on how to start writing and what to write. It is an honest and direct journal that will help to store memories and precious moments beautifully.
I found the concept interesting and different, and the topics are separated in a way that helps readers to plan their written words. The three sections - past, present, and future - will touch the hearts of all at any given time and the contents are priceless. The grieving process of the author and her husband are palpable through her story and many of us will be able to relate to her loss and what she experienced after losing Dalton. I found the general tips and reminders shared in the book useful, and they contribute in making the journal personal and memorable. The journal is a good gift for weddings, baby showers, and birthdays, and can be kept in one’s personal collection as it teaches everyone to display their love and affection openly.
