Life is full of stressful moments, the ups and the downs, the sudden grief and despair. There are also moments of great happiness, blessed moments for which we want to sing praise and thanks. But how do we express all that we feel, all that we fear, all that we need, and all that we are thankful for? It’s all in the Bible, of course, but sometimes we want to express our praise and ask for help on the spur of the moment. Or, we just don’t know where to start looking in the Bible. All we need, really, is a little pocket book full of suggested prayers to start our conversation with God.
Mina Petersen’s A Little Power Prayer Book For Your Daily Living is a compact book full of thirty prayers to help each of us through the rituals and struggles, the joys and sorrows of everyday living. Each prayer is referenced with a quote from the Bible and an illustration to inspire prayerful thoughts. The list of prayers includes: forgiveness, strength to stand up to our enemies, healing hands, faith, and much more. The prayers are purposeful and inspirational, helping to heal us spiritually as well as to guide us along our daily walk with Christ. There are a lot of prayer books and prayer resources available in book form as well as online. But Mina’s little book provides the faithful with all that is needed: the prayer, the source, and a beautiful, compelling image to inspire. A beautiful book in so many ways.
