A Happy Christmas Ceilidh by Zoe Tasia is a Christmas mystery tale. A family takes on the role of detectives when they notice strange things happening around their home during preparations for the festive season. Becca and her boyfriend Greg prank her daughters with an elf doll, but they quickly observe that things are missing, see footprints around the house, and discover that the snowman keeps changing position. They were alarmed because this was not part of their prank. Family members decide to stay up all night and gather video evidence. Amid all this investigation, they still have to get each other Christmas presents on tight budgets. Eventually, their night-watching bears fruit. Find out what they discover.
Join Becca and her magical family as they prepare for Christmas in A Happy Christmas Ceilidh. The star of this book was Sir Clifford Elvin Fields-Show, an elf that spoke not a word the entire time but had the whole family scratching their heads. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who or what was moving the elf. Apart from the mystery, I loved the romantic plotline. Jessie and Becca deserved love, and I was rooting for them throughout. I also loved the familiar hustle of trying to get the perfect Christmas presents for your loved ones. The blouse and razor pawning situation was funny, and it added an element of humor to the story. The tale is told from multiple points of view. Zoe Tasia began each chapter with a character's name, which made the book easy to follow. Celebrate your festive season by adding this story to your library.
