Remember the old cartoon where a character was trying to make a decision and a tiny angel sat on his right shoulder and on his left was a little devil. That’s not exactly the way it works and yet I was reminded of that when I read Spiritual Warfare. There is not 2 little creatures sitting on your shoulders encouraging you to make a right or wrong decision. However, satan is watching everything you do. He is watching for an opportunity to entice you away from the Lord.

Satan knows how to use the desires of our flesh. Our culture presents temptations to the flesh. We live in a world that proclaims me first and if it feels good it must be good. “Satan is the mastermind behind the world.” “He can draw our attention away from God by manipulating the desires of the flesh.” The Lord has given us Spiritual Armor to protect us in the battle that we all must fight.

It is unfortunate that many who call their selves Christian do not believe in satan. Yet he is mentioned many times in the scripture. Just as demons are mentioned and are also real. I found the chapter on demons of particular interest. According to Kerby Anderson they have distinct personalities. Demons deceive us.

Kerby Anderson offers readers and in-depth look at Spirituals Warfare. He discusses a wide range of topics including demons, satan, Spiritual Armor, possession, etc. His book is easy to read and understand. I found the topics informative and interesting.
