Bethany Lopez's 7 Months (Time for Love) is the seventh in a series. Ming is a hard worker. All she wants to be is a great lawyer, daughter and friend, but, as she turns 35, her focus must move away from her career. All her friends are together with someone, and Ming is feeling a little on the shelf. She knows exactly what she needs, but whether she can find it or not is a different matter. Brady is a police officer, doing a job that feels right to him, but, although he feels he was born to protect and serve, he really can’t handle a woman who doesn’t particularly need him to protect and serve her. Ming and Brady spend 7 months together, just occasional nights of passion because Brady has nothing else to offer. Ming wants more and, when Brady doesn’t seem inclined to take the next step, Ming must determine if he is the right man for her.
Bethany Lopez's 7 Months (Time for Love) was a good story, but I must confess to not having read any of the other books in the series. I have read another book by Bethany Lopez and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, Ms. Lopez has a knack for storytelling and that does come across in the style of writing. There is quite a bit going on in the story with a real mix of action, romance and a little humor. It is clearly a family story with a good deal of drama mixed in for luck, and the characters were sufficiently developed for me to get to know them. Obviously if I'd read the other books I would probably have gotten to know them better so, although I enjoyed the story and it probably can be read on its own, I would urge any reader to start at the beginning of the series – I know I will be doing this.
