“3 Off the Tee: Make it Happen” by Lorii Myers is a self-help book which takes a different direction and is mainly aimed at people who play golf or have an interest in golf. The book is full of comparisons with the game of golf, for example, there are no chapters but “holes” that you need to shoot at. Each chapter/hole is a little goal and you should understand it and manage it before you move on to the next hole. The book is about finding out what you really want to achieve in your life, how you can get the necessary character qualities and how you can slowly but steadily work your way towards success.
I found the idea of using analogies like the two sets of holes in a golf game as replacement for chapters a nice idea but sometimes there was a little too much golf talk. The self-help part was very good. The content was what you would expect in a good self-help book. There was just one thing I would have loved to see in the book: space to jot down your thoughts and your answers to the questions. “3 Off the Tee: Make it Happen” by Lorii Myers has a very logical structure and takes the reader from the basics of developing the life they want to the “harder” steps. A reader who is motivated to make changes in his life will be able to do so with the book's help. It is certainly a book you should spend more than one or two days on.
