Zoey and Max: Best Friends Forever by Zandria Bastian, with illustrations by Queen Smith, is a children’s book that follows the story of Zoey, an adorable little girl. Zoey has a pet cat called Max. He is also her best friend. Her parents adopted Max from their local pet shelter, and they’ve been best friends since. However, things take a turn when, all of a sudden, Zoey starts looking for Max without being able to find him anywhere. Zoey has checked all of Max’s favorite places but still can’t find him. Now, Zoey is worried and wonders whether she needs to ask her parents to join her search. Where could Max be?
Zoey and Max: Best Friends Forever by Zandria Bastian is a lovely children’s book. I have to applaud the illustrations by Queen Smith. They are beautiful with rich graphics that look good enough to be cartoons; the only difference is that these pictures are not moving. I also loved how big and colorful the fonts were; they were very eye-catching. Zoey and Max is a short read that is ideal for holding the attention span of a child. I especially loved the discussion questions at the end. It’s a splendid way to ensure a child’s engagement and understanding of the story and its themes. Zoey and Max will also be perfect as a bedtime story, and I’m sure it will be in popular demand and a bedtime favorite for kids.
