You Own Me is a romantic suspense novel written by Mary Catherine Gebhard. Lennox has left everything she knows behind in her flight from her abusive ex-boyfriend. Dean and she had lived happily together until he began to cheat on her and became abusive. She's left a promising job in event planning in Seattle and moved down to Santa Barbara, California. A friendly neighbor, Zoe, recommends her for a position with an event planning company in town, and Lennox succeeds in getting the job, even though she left that last one without giving notice. Zoe also helps Lennox block the series of threatening emails and images she keeps receiving from Dean, who has sworn to find and hurt her. While she's coping with the new job and the continuing stress over the stalking, Lennox finds herself unavoidably intrigued by her landlord, Vic, who seems to have feelings for her as well, but continues to push her away.
Mary Catherine Gebhard's romantic suspense novel, You Own Me, is sexy, exciting and very entertaining. Lennox has a history of mental illness and a lot of issues besides her stalker ex-boyfriend, and Vic is probably the worst person she could pick out for a relationship, but somehow these two have been destined for a turbulent and tumultuous relationship. Gebhard's two main characters are complex, stubborn and a lot of fun to watch as they try to discover what their relationship could be. They also have some sizzling sex that's both steamy and well-written, something that's all too hard to find. I enjoyed reading You Own Me. It's really quite a marvelous romantic suspense novel, and I'll be looking for other works by this author. You Own Me is most highly recommended.
