Do you have a great story swirling around in your head, just waiting to be written down and shared? Perhaps it’s a bestseller. You’ll never know until it’s written. Anna Brooke and Vindy Teja’s Write! is a great tool to help you get started on your writing journey, because that’s what it is – a journey. As the authors point out, “Everyone should write their story.” Sadly, like the authors, we writers often hear the excuse that there’s nothing to say, nothing to write about, and "I have too much going on living my life than to take the time to sit down and write about it." I hear that last part all too often. When you think about it, however, all you need is a little organizational skill and then you can live your life and write about it, too. So, where does one start? With a guided process, of course.

Anna Brooke and Vindy Teja’s Write! Your Guide to Revealing the Writer Within is the guided process that will help you get started and see you through your writing journey. Well-organized and with lots of prompts and useful tips, this book is a gem. I love that the authors included quotes from other authors and great thinkers throughout history to support their theses. For example, Dalai Lama XIV says: “If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.” In conclusion, the authors sum up the most important points, including: “Your writing is valid, and your story belongs and matters just as much as the next person’s.” They’re cheering us on to writing success, so all we have to do is start the journey and find our path. The book includes valuable resources at the end as well as some worksheets to help writers with the process. A real writing gem!
