Author ROBIN LAMONT’S diverse careers as actress, private investigator, and prosecutor all served as inspiration for Wright for America. She performed on Broadway in several shows, including the musical Godspell, and her original cast recording of “Day by Day” has drawn fans from around the world. Between shows, she moonlighted at a private investigations firm that hired actors as undercover agents to ferret out producers of counterfeit products. After earning her law degree, she practiced as an Assistant District Attorney in New York, where she lives with her family.
Robin’s first novel If Thy Right Hand was awarded the Gold Medal in the 2012 Independent Publishers Book Awards and named Best of 2011 by Suspense Magazine.

Robin Lamont's "Wright For America" feeds the hunger for mystery, adventure, passion, and comedy in one extraordinary story. The action centers around the believable talk show host Pryor Wright, who spews venomous ultra-conservative tirades which our protagonist Maren believes contributed to the injuries inflicted on her gay brother by attackers shouting the slogan, "This is what's Wright for America!" She is determined to avenge her brother. Maren's strategy to make Wright pay for his part in the assault involves her theatrical troupe in a plan that is as dangerous as the blunders are comical. Maren's day job as an undercover agent for a seedy private investigator trying to expose a not-so-legitimate group of "businessmen", meanwhile, manages to attract the attention of the FBI. The plot weaves among these various groups in a delightful mixture of personal relationships and circumstantial subplots.
Lamont has a winner in this book that makes me want to see it as a movie! The "characters portrayed by the characters" and mistaken motives and identities add to the reading pleasure. The various threads from undercover cops, to survivalists, to country and western stars, and theatrical hopefuls are believable, and the way they intertwine keep the reader motivated. While this book is enjoyable simply at surface level, the reader will also appreciate the way Lamont has researched the subject matter and combined politically hot topics with fast-paced action in a lighthearted manner. The book, while intended as humorous fiction, has a storyline with a timely and relevant premise that speaks a subtle but definite message to the reader.
