There’s no two ways about it: social media like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, just to name a few, are a huge part of the daily lives of many people these days. They are a major source of both entertainment and information. And they can also be dangerous as the protagonists, Gary and Tera, discover when their YouTube channel, known as Wraithworks, puts an out of control killer on their tails.
Frederick H. Crook, author of Wraithworks, draws readers quickly into Gary's and Tera’s lives: they spend their time researching criminal cases and uploading their findings and thoughts to YouTube. They have amassed a huge following, so when another less successful YouTuber shows them some previously undisclosed video of a killer in action and solicits their help in exposing this perp, they are right on it without much fear for their safety: they too would like to nail this creep. But that turns out to be a lot harder than they ever anticipated because where there is money, power and corruption behind crime, cover-ups are hard to prove, not to mention dangerous for those sticking their noses in where they aren’t wanted.
Wraithworks moves along at a great clip. Readers will find themselves keeping their fingers crossed that Gary and Tera don’t find themselves the latest addition to the growing body pile as their YouTube channel and those of several other YouTubers are shut down and the killer is in hot pursuit to eliminate the people behind the now viral videos of him in action. You will have a hard time setting this book aside to go grab a coffee. It’s that intense. A very different kind of thriller fiction, Wraithworks is well worth your time. Enjoy!
