Words of Life: Messages for a Path to Inner Peace is a nonfiction collection of inspirational essays written by T.L. Montgomery. The author is an intuitive life coach as well as a photographer, whose photographs precede each of the essays contained within her book. In her preface, she dedicates her work to the seekers, to those who are looking for enlightenment, and she shows through her essays how the answers sought are often found within ourselves. Montgomery’s photographs are dramatic, bold and brimming with the magic of the natural world. She offers brightly colored macro images of blooms, dark, brooding seaside scenes and marvelous images of sea meeting land. Her essays are meditations, filled with warmth and wisdom; each one deserving some quiet time for thought and reflection.
T.L. Montgomery’s Words of Life: Messages for a Path to Inner Peace is a uniquely lovely motivational work that had me hanging on each word as I read. I love her nature photography and the way each selection works so well to set the mood of the accompanying essay. Her essay on Death was especially enlightening, giving the reader an entirely fresh and original take on what is for most people a fearsome mystery. Likewise, her essay on Depression offers a new way to appreciate what that state has to offer. Montgomery’s thoughts and feelings are expressed in an intuitive and informal way that makes it feel as though you’ve got your own life coach sitting there and personally working with you. I learned and experienced quite a bit reading this book, enjoying the photography and allowing the wisdom to sink in as I read. Words of Life: Messages for a Path to Inner Peace is most highly recommended.
