"Wishless" by Louise Caiola is an amazing novel. From the personality of each character to the wonderful story line, I loved it all! There were moments when I would laugh out loud, and other moments where I would catch myself getting choked up. There is a perfect balance between the funny and light moments and the serious, heavy moments. The development of each character throughout the story is perfect. Chessie is such a strong character. She doesn't let her disease run her life. She learns strong life lessons, such as forgiveness. Chessie overcomes several obstacles in this novel, and she doesn't let them bring her down. A couple of times Chessie's weaknesses are shown, but that is what makes her so real. Louise Caiola has done a wonderful job of creating a novel that has a meaning. "Wishless" is witty, heartwarming, and last but not least, meaningful. A must read for all people!
