After spending twenty dangerous years with the Philadelphia Police Department, the iconic Detective Brad Sanders needed a break. He wanted to work in a safe and relaxed environment, and the Winter Haven Police Department was perfect. Does trouble follow him everywhere? Winter Haven was about to see some action like never before, and Brad would put on his detective hat once again after three years. Russell Anderson, a big shot at Bixby Manufacturing, and his family visited Winter Haven for the Christmas holidays. He went skiing with his son Michael, and the following news was of his death. Russell had scores to settle with many people, and his death was suspicious. Christmas was over for Brad Sanders and others as they brought their A-game to this case in Winter Haven by Charlie Avera and Pam Shanahan.
Winter Haven: Bobcat in the Trees by Charlie Avera and Pam Shanahan is the first installment in the Winter Haven Mystery Series. This fast-paced novel revolves around two notable families. One comprised a low-achieving, unambitious patriarch who failed at everything but loved his family to bits. The second family was dysfunctional but wealthy. The patriarch was successful and ambitious yet had dark secrets and was cruel. If asked to choose, which would you pick? Could anyone have it all? I loved everything about this novel because the plot was airtight. The authors also carefully developed the storyline and characters, and the editing was flawless. Pam and Charlie are imaginative, as the suspense and unpredictability captured my attention. If only Tom told TJ the truth, maybe... Brad deserves a holiday after that showdown, but I think the peace he sought just eluded him. Thank you for a beautiful book!
