What was supposed to be a simple college archaeological dig at Ghost Creek turns out to be anything but. The site is located on private property in the Utah outback and guarded by three armed men. Their odd behavior excites the suspicion of one of the young student archaeologists, Suzy. She catches them lurking around the dig after hours and resolves to uncover the truth. Owen, a National Park employee, finds himself caught in the middle when he is sent to the Ghost Creek site and accidentally stumbles across a body and a ring of violent thieves who deal in black market artifacts. When they attempt to silence him by shooting his plane out of the sky, Owen makes a desperate landing and is rescued by a strange, desert-dwelling hermit. Pursued by cold-blooded killers who will do anything to keep their secret, Owen and his new friend must warn the students and help them escape before it’s too late.
Wings Over Ghost Creek by A.W. Baldwin is a beautifully written thriller set in the stunning Utah outback. Baldwin’s evocative descriptions bring the desert to life, a picture painted with words. The poetic prose brings out the history and atmosphere of that place. The characters and their reactions and emotions feel realistic, especially Owen. The plot itself is well-crafted with plenty of suspense and action to keep readers turning the pages until the very end. Wings Over Ghost Creek is sure to be a hit with lovers of ancient history and crime thrillers alike.
