Wings of Fate by Skye Horn follows Thea Gilbert, a young woman looking for the truth behind her identity, who finds that it is the farthest from what she could have imagined. Thea takes a trip to Ireland, the place where her birth parents left her, hoping to find answers. However, what she finds is a handsome yet familiar stranger…with wings. Thea is pulled into a world with faeries and magic and is tasked with helping protect this new world from the darkness that seeks to overtake it all.
Wings of Fate by Skye Horn definitely has it all from a crazy king, fated lovers, and a dark and brooding sister and there’s even a unicorn. The book never allowed for a dull moment in this fast-paced fantasy world and I enjoyed every minute of reading it. The various themes from soul mates to sisterly bonds ensured that the story was never too one-dimensional in its focus and gave the reader ample time to enjoy the various aspects of the faerie kingdom. The characters were so well written and were allowed to grow within their own rights throughout the story. I loved Thea and Kieran’s relationship although it did seem a bit fast-paced, but considering the circumstances and the fact that I’m a hopeless romantic, I let it go. Overall, this book was such a pleasure to read and I absolutely look forward to what comes next in the story. I would definitely recommend this book to all fantasy lovers.
