Windhollows: Book 3, Windhollows and the Axe Breaker is an action adventure story for children written by Trayner Bane. With everything that Billy Molskin has been through, his life is just about to get even more complicated. Between learning new things about his dad, and hating the deadly and destructive path laid by his arch enemy, Billy finds himself at a loss. Who can he trust, and will he ever move past the pathetic way everyone treats him? Will he be able to save his race, or will the creature that has stolen everything from Billy since birth keep on stealing from him and finally win the war that started so long ago?
This was the saddest, but greatest book that I have read in a very long time. The author has not once lost his touch with staying on target throughout the book while keeping the story alive. The further I read into this series, the more I want to read to find out if the underdog will win a glorious victory, or if the enemy will conquer instead. The plot was well planned and did not once distract from the other books, while still having a place in its own right to further the story. The characters were well defined; the climax evoked every emotion possible, while keeping the book clean. This is a book I would suggest for an award; it is that good. This book had very little violence, and nothing that most children couldn’t handle in a fairytale. I would suggest an audience of any child old enough to read by themselves. An outstanding and very well-written book.
