"Whispers of the Stones" is story about the Native American wall art on cave stones and also about a tiny mummy, named Pedro Mummy, that is the object of theft and multiple murders. It is a present day fictionalized account of the story of the mummy that was lost in the 1930's. The mummy keeps being stolen and people are murdered because of it. The small South West town has a number of characters that could be guilty but Sheriff McQuede must figure out who has really done it as blame keeps shifting.
Authors Loretta Jackson and Vickie Britton have written a fictional mystery story with a tie in to an actual mummy of a very small Native American that is supposed to be part of a tribe of very small elf-like people. This real mummy was lost in the 1930's. The theft of the mummy and murder start the story and try if you can spot the guilty person. This book "Whispers of the Stones" will keep you guessing as it did our Sheriff McQuede. The characters in the book are very interesting and most of them are suspects because they could have had the motive. McQuede even has the tables turned on himself and is accused of wrongdoing. He has to continue the hunt for the murderer while trying to find the missing Pedro Mummy with much of the townspeople against him. If you like a mystery with an interesting location as well as colorful characters, this is the one for you.
