Rebecca had a rough sex life, which she overcame. And to help women, she anonymously documented her journey on a blog. This blog gained traction and caught the attention of MOD, an exclusive and revered fashion firm. The person at the helm of affairs in this firm was the powerful fashion icon, Jane Stuart. Jane made and broke people. Unfortunately, Rebecca hovered above her trap. Jane had a messy history with Rebecca’s boyfriend, Kyle, which cost him everything. He hid the secret from everyone, including Rebecca. However, Jane was hell-bent on reeling Kyle in through Rebecca, who was none the wiser. She offered a gift that would unearth the past, explode the present, and maybe ruin the future. Where will the aftermath leave Rebecca and Kyle? Find out in What We Never Say by Paulette Stout.
What We Never Say by Paulette Stout is a captivating story I couldn’t put down. The theme was also sensitive and thought-provoking. I loved the unique plot, solid characters, and educative storyline, and I think everyone should read this book. Rebecca wanted fame so much that she jumped at the first offer, ignoring all warnings, and it didn’t end well. However, my heart broke for Kyle because of the pain men suppress. Men suffer abuse and harassment but can’t speak up because we are in a society that sides with powerful predators. Who would believe a mere woman could abuse a gigantic man rippling with muscles? This novel also exposed what hid behind the glamorous veil of the modeling world. The messiness, predators, caged prey, and broken souls would leave anyone gasping. Paulette is a fantastic writer who says the secrets we keep are weapons for detractors. Tell and control your story because shame belongs to the abusers.
