Sex and marriage are probably not subject matters most of us would seek in the Bible. It seems naughty, not spiritual, as per what we might have been raised to believe. In fact, the idea of seeking colorful scenes in the Bible is enough to make most gasp. Solomon was a passionate man whose experiences are (now I know) in the Song of Solomon. The author, using his extensive knowledge of the Bible, guides the reader/listener through the book and explains how God sees about this subject and what He desires for us in our life.
Seemingly written for the benefit of marriage or perhaps pre-marriage counseling, the book is informative and open for conversation. It encourages discussion and referencing which might loosen up a group who would perhaps otherwise be very uncomfortable with the subject matter. The author's tone is that of everyday -- it is not restrictive or exudes a taboo thing. I listened to this book as an audio option and found that I enjoyed it much more than what I initially anticipated. More than once I went back to the beginning of a track to listen more closely when there were questions or when maybe I didn't quite agree with what was being said. For the most part, I generally found clarification and agreement which intrigued me further to pull out my own Bible when I got home and look up the scriptures myself. This book is highly recommended for those considering marriage, those who are curious about the subject matter or those who never realized that this was in there!
