Sometimes the most ordinary things that happen every day make us realize how much we are loved. Like the smell of Mom’s fresh baking in the morning to suggest a yummy breakfast, or the kiss Dad blows at us when he drops us off at school, or the simple act of finding a way to make someone else feel wanted and part of the fun. All these things and more are found in Gabriella Fiorletta’s What I See is Love. A young girl goes through her daily routine at home and at school and all around she can see the love that helps her grow and mature.
Gabriella Fiorletta’s children's picture book, What I See is Love, is a sweet reminder to us all that the simple things in life make us feel important, warm inside, and loved. The plot follows a young girl throughout her day, and with the conclusion of each event or interaction is the eloquently stated phrase, “What I see is love.” The language is simple so young readers can follow along. With the “What I see is love” phrase being repeated, young readers will quickly start recognizing these words as well as the key message being shared. Some of the messages and examples will bring tears to readers’ eyes as they realize how much this all means in the daily scheme of things, and how much it defines the extent of their being loved. The illustrations are bright, bold, and colorful and add another dimension to the story. Like Robert Munsch’s Love You Forever, this story will warm the hearts of young and old alike. Absolutely beautiful!
