I co-founded Phoenix Ninjutsu academy in 1992. Over the years I have taught hundreds of students in Phoenix and throughout Arizona. In 2000, we moved to the white mountains of Eastern Arizona. I am a general building contractor, I am also a NAUI scuba divemaster with countless dives. A member of the International Bujinkan, I have been to Japan several times to train.
I had studied many other martial arts but was looking for an art that didn’t rely on beating someone into submission. I was living in Santa Cruz, CA, when I stumbled on Ninjutsu. I saw techniques that I’d never seen before in each session. After observing the third class, I signed up and even after all this time, still find that I learn something new in the art during trainings.
I wrote ‘Wet Work’ because the original technical idea seemed like nobody had thought of it and I was a big fan of Eric Lustbader’s “Nicholas Linnear” series. Surprisingly, I came up with the initial idea twenty-five years ago.

When a very important program is stolen from the Department of Defense and the man delivering it is found dead, Wet Work (Trace Conner Book 1) begins. The Colonel, who is head of security of the company that created the software, calls in the FBI, and not getting answers as quickly as he thinks is necessary, he contacts Trace Conner for a very different approach. Trace is well known for his Ninjutsu skills. Trace soon finds himself fighting the enemy and finding new and inventive ways to keep the program out of the wrong hands. Along the way, Trace is placed in life-threatening situations and learns on the fly about the espionage plot taking place. There are several people who are called upon to help Trace and keep him alive against the evil and more experienced Neko. The main bad guy in the story finds Neko is also willing to do whatever it takes to get the much-desired program into the wrong hands and he thinks nothing of fighting or even killing whoever gets in his way. The conclusion will keep you on the edge of the seat and holding your breath.
Wet Work (Trace Conner Book 1) is chock-full of action, suspense, and amazing acts of bravery and daring. If you enjoy fast action and an exciting plot, then Wet Work is a must-read for you. I found it just a tiny bit slow to get into the story, but once there, I could not put it down. Scott Harrington made the Ninjutsu come alive on the page and though I know nothing about this type of martial arts, I could picture each fight as if it were happening in front of me. Scott has written a book on a subject he is very familiar with and his expertise shines through. I am anxiously awaiting book 2 to follow the next adventure of Trace Conner.
