Flight attendant Lauren Cooper is approached by a military officer, Major Chris Thomason, and three Ukrainian children at Frankfurt Airport. The major asks her to take the children to America and keep them safe while he recovers from life-threatening wounds. Lauren promises to protect the children. During their encounter, the two strangers share a memorable kiss that leaves Lauren guilty because she is currently reconciling with her boyfriend, Dr. Jake Darren. When she flies back home to Atlanta with the children, her family takes them in and embraces them as their own. Lauren gets back with Jake, and their relationship is stronger than ever, but the appearance of Major Chris makes her nervous. The major needs Jake’s help to survive, and he latches on to Lauren during his darkest moments. Lauren is torn between these two heroes and has three children looking up to her. Get a copy of We're All Heroes by Mona Risk and join these incredible characters on their journey of love and courage.
We’re All Heroes is a story about trust, survival, and forgiveness. All the characters in this story are selfless, and they put their needs before others. Lauren is kind and does not hesitate to protect and sacrifice for others. She and Jake have great chemistry, and their steamy moments made me blush. The three children, Natasha, Paul, and Nicky, were adorable, and I loved their squeals and excitement whenever they were given good news. They left a war-torn land, and I was happy that they got a chance to enjoy their childhood in peace. The book has a great plot and smooth flow, which make it an enjoyable read. Mona Risk brought all the characters to life with her amazing writing skills. I recommend this book to anyone who loves reading romance novels with a realistic plot that centers on current events.
