Seriously, the introduction itself is worth our reading time! Her topics, which range from “Terminology” and “Findability”, Parts 1 and 2, to a “marketing cheat sheet” and a strategy to visualize audiences, are broken up into chapters called “lessons” that are easily accessible because the table of contents is a list of clickable links. Writers can quickly go anywhere in the book to read and re-read these informative lessons, which can be immediately applied to improve their websites for potential or returning readers.
Website Tips & Tricks: 15 Lessons to Supercharge Your Author Website by Barb Drozdowich is a long title for a relatively small book, but writers should not let that deter them. Readers/writers can learn a lot from this book, which is undoubtedly the main reason for picking up this how-to handbook. Barb Drozdowich writes in a direct and easy manner as if she is carrying on a conversation with us now. Her point is to put us more at ease as we apply her methods to our own author websites. She also has our reading audience in mind and wants us to keep our readers in mind as well. Personally, I found her approach very worthwhile, not only from the point of view of a writer sorely in need of improving my own website but also because, as a fellow teacher, I recognize Barb’s natural teaching abilities as well. As a writer, I plan to keep a copy of this book close to hand, and you should, too.
