I am a published poetry writer. My first children’s book “Waffles and Pancakes A Lesson in Friendship” was released on April 17, 2012. On September 17, 2012 the second in the series "Waffles and Pancakes A Lesson in Bullying" was released. I have been writing since I was in my teens. I have spent many years researching and writing about parenting teenagers for various publications. I am currently working on a third "Waffles and Pancakes" story and a novel. Presently, I am a virtual assistant for a top author.

"Waffles and Pancakes," written and illustrated by Cindy Springsteen, is a cute, little story about friendship and what is important in life. Pancakes and Waffles are two hamsters who live together at the pet shop. They are both bought on the same day and taken home by boys; however, they each have different homes from each other and live different lives. Griffin provided Pancakes with a beautiful home with everything a little hamster could want, but something important was missing: Griffin did not spend time playing with Pancakes. Danny took home Waffles and gave him a little box for a home, but every day after school they would play together. One day when the boys get together with their hamsters, Pancakes and Waffles, an important lesson is learned by all: it doesn't matter what you have, if you have love you will be happy.
This is a great story to teach young children the importance of love and friendship. There is so much emphasis placed on things and having a lot of money in today's society, yet money cannot buy true and long lasting happiness as the characters in this book learn. Danny and Griffin are boys from different backgrounds, yet they find similarities in their lives and become friends. This book will teach children to look beyond material things and outer appearances in order to really see who a person is on the inside and discover that happiness stems from true friendship and love for one another instead of building up material items. The illustrations are very vibrant throughout and will catch the reader's attention as well. A well-written, to the point book that has just the perfect length for children's attention spans.
