“When arguing with a chicken, it is always the grain of corn that is wrong.” Vinegary, Squeaky, and Clucky Chronicles: as Chicken Man, Pickle Man, and the Rat of Justice is a children’s action book by Joseph Lupton. Chicken Man hurried to the Poultry Research Institution (PRI) after Dr. Cluckingstein said that he had a solution to make him immune to Chickenite. After blasting the Chickenite with Chickoxide, a portal opens, and Dark Chicken Lord, ruler and terrorizer of all poultry kind, appears. He’s hen-bent on capturing Chicken Man and other poultry so he invites Crock-Pot Man and Chicken Finger Guy to join forces with him. Pickle Man seldom has time for relaxing with hot pickle showers because the Gherkin of Doom is turning his friends at Pickle High University (PHU) into pickle slices. Joseph, the Rat of Justice, is also kept busy when Rodentville is invaded by alien cats who crave mouse kabobs and Rat-A-Roni meals.
Everyone can be a superhero, and Joseph Lupton has introduced a few more, namely the Rat of Justice, Pickle Man, and Chicken Man. Vinegary, Squeaky, and Clucky Chronicles is a fantastic collection of laugh-out-loud, save-the-day adventures that these brave superheroes experience. It’s not easy bringing the villains to the Poultry Justice Association (PJA), so it’s a good thing that Chicken Man has the “Henternet” to surf for information, and there is also the Rat News Network (RNN). I laughed a lot reading about the hilarious, but dangerous missions of my new superheroes. I don’t care if this is a children’s action book; adults will also be just as entertained.
