He is later informed that his accident might have been intentional, and the race begins to find the reason behind his attempted murder. Will Devin get the girl and catch the person trying to kill him? Find out in this modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
Unmasking the Heart by Macee McNeill has it all: romance, action, suspense, comedy, and family. The author's writing is beautiful and flawless. I enjoyed getting to know all the characters, even the bad guys. All the characters were perfectly described and had unique background stories. Devin and Darcie have instant chemistry, and I enjoyed reading their banter. The dialogue is natural and easy to understand and the main characters underwent a seamless development. It was fascinating to see how the characters had grown and become happier people at the end of the book. Circumstances play a big part in an individual's life. If not for the tragic hit-and-run, Devin would have been stuck in his miserable life with Mallory and never would have met Darcie. Sometimes bad things happen for good reasons. I cannot wait to read more of this author's works because I was mesmerized by that cliffhanger at the end of the book. Great work.
