Unforgettable You is a contemporary romance novel by author Heatherly Bell. The central plot focuses on Diana, who arrives at a familiar crossroads in a lot of women’s lives where she decides that she’s gone off men for good. Abandoned by her fiancé, Diana moves to her bright fresh start at Starlight Hill, only to land herself in a very literal disaster. She is rescued from a fire by the wild and impulsive Scott, an old flame that she’d rather forget. But as the pair reconnect and the past and present mingle, it becomes clear to Diana that her anti-men approach just isn’t working. As for Scott, he realises he has a lot of soul searching to do if he’s going to win the woman he needs.
Scott plays the perfect heroic yet damaged lead which contemporary romance fans are sure to love, and Diana is a relatable young woman shying away from romance after serious heartbreak. Where at first she appears uptight and withdrawn, Heatherly Bell unveils Diana’s inner passions and emotions at just the right pace for the readership to really connect with her. What begins as a very sweet ‘friendship into love’ story romps on towards a passionate romantic connection, and Bell’s prose is easy to read, but hard to stop turning pages. Romance fans will find all the usual meet-cutes and secluded moments that they know and love from the genre, mingled with an original emotional narrative on Scott’s part. I would definitely recommend Unforgettable You to contemporary romance fans everywhere.
