Understanding the World Religions by the Haqiqah Institute delves into the various religions that have occupied the world since the beginning of recorded history. The institute gives clear and accurate information on each faith and serves its purpose of giving the reader the needed knowledge to understand the different religions and their belief systems, whether the reader is a believer or not. I was eager to start on the Eastern Religions chapter as I've never actually understood what these religions were all about, although I have kept a respectfully open mind throughout the years. I was pleasantly surprised, as what I discovered about these religions has helped me gain a broader understanding of my Eastern counterparts and how they worship their gods, taking part in interesting rituals and worship time.

Understanding the World Religions serves its purpose of helping us understand and gain insight into each other's different yet equally beautiful religions. From Islam's Five Pillars to Buddhism's Four Noble Truths and Nirvana, it all serves a holy purpose. Learning about the Islamic charity Zakat was just as empowering. I am grateful to the institute for this wonderful piece of knowledge and am eager to start reading more about Eastern religions. Discovering that Christianity and Islam fell under Abrahamic Religions was surprising, as I had no idea that the term even existed. There is still so much to discover regarding the world religions and realizing that we are not so different was the biggest one of all. I recommend this book to anyone seeking more knowledge about God and His relationship with humankind.
