TWIN TAILS: Song of The Siren: Twin Tails Series, Volume 2 is a fantasy novel for children and preteens written and illustrated by CILLYart. Marina and Perla's dad, Mateo Perez, was feeling a bit wistful as they began celebrating their Thanksgiving together. He wondered if there would be more Thanksgivings for just the four of them in the future, but realized that there'd soon be boyfriends, then husbands and children filling the chairs at dinner. The two girls were now in their senior year in high school and would soon be going away to college. Their meal was abruptly interrupted by a strangely shrill and haunting cry that only Marina and Perla could hear. The twins were disturbed by that repeated sound, and they wondered if it presaged bad things. The Thanksgiving delights seemed to lose their appeal as that sound echoed on and on. Suddenly the phone rang. It was Lindy and Bo Chung, who were long-time friends of the family. They were travelling to the West Coast from their home in South Carolina to see the Perez family and would arrive the next day. Just before she got off the phone, Lindy told Marnie that the twins should stay away from the ocean until they got there. Hearing that warning, combined with the eeriness of that continued wailing, was more than enough to convince the twins to stay far from their beloved ocean, at least for now.
CILLYart's fantasy novel for children and preteens, TWIN TAILS: Song of The Siren: Twin Tails Series, Volume 2, is an exciting and well-written story that continues the Twin Tails story about two mermaid sisters who were raised by Dr. and Mrs. Perez. This novel can be read as a standalone story as the author does give sufficient background information; however, I'd recommend reading the books in order. The first volume, Twin Tails of Mason Beach, does a wonderful job of showing the twins’ early lives, starting with their dramatic water-borne appearance as infants. TWIN TAILS: Song of The Siren provides the reader with the answers to a lot of questions he/she may have about Marina and Perla's real family and the circumstances behind their being raised by the Perezes. This is a fast-paced tale filled with action, adventure and suspense as the twins are confronted by a deadly Siren who is determined to make them her captives. TWIN TAILS: Song of The Siren: Twin Tails Series, Volume 2 is highly recommended.
