Abuse is not something new to many women, and certainly not for Audrey, Cynthia Savage's Trusting The Billionaire's main character. After divorcing her abusive husband, she started a non-profit association for battered women. Due to a lack of financing, her facility is at risk. Her best friend has her heart broken by a man who claims to follow a coach's advice on how to play women. Audrey is determined to make him pay. Then there is Asher, utterly in love with his high school crush. When a client blackmails him into showing up with his (non-existent) wife to his wedding, he sees his pictured life crumble. For better or worse, both characters' lives collide and entangle. Will their union help, or will it end in catastrophe?
Reading Trusting The Billionaire by Cynthia Savage has proved to be a pleasant surprise. I expected the book to be good, but I hardly felt like I was reading. First of all, the plot is well-thought out. Everything is connected, and transitions are so smooth it becomes the definition of seamless. Aside from that, this novel is a real attention-grabber: I finished it in one sitting. Savage's book could be the definition of a summer book, light and easy to read. It does not, however, have a "superficial" label: it does have its depths. There is good dating advice about what is healthy and what is not. The narrative was both hilarious and intensely emotional; simply outstanding. The well-defined characters are incredible, and you will inevitably fall in love with them (both principal and side characters). I truly believe this novel is a masterpiece in its genre. Cynthia Savage makes readers love her writing.
