What true worship means is a question I have often asked myself, but until I read Marja Verschoor-Meijers's True Worshipers, I could not find an answer. In her informative and inspirational book, Verschoor-Meijers asks herself my same question and reflects on what would remain of our faith if everything we have built and created over the centuries disappeared. What is the core of worshiping God? Taking a close look at the second commandment, attitudes, and acts of worship, Verschoor-Meijers offers a thorough analysis of the topic and provides many hints that require our attention and reflection.
I am a Christian and, as such, I often wonder how to be worthy of God's benevolence and love. Marja Verschoor-Meijers's book clarified my ideas once and for all. Now, I understand where to start, how to behave every day, what to leave behind, and what to improve. True Worshipers has broadened my vision, often making me meditate on concepts I overlooked. I also understand some passages from the Bible better. I always welcome texts that deepen my knowledge of the Holy Scriptures because it has been my priority to study them in recent years. True Worshipers has allowed me to achieve one of my goals. The greatest quality of this book is helping readers apply the holy precepts with awareness. My only regret is that I had not found True Worshipers before. From now on, I will keep it close, together with the other books of the series Verschoor-Meijers has already written and will write.
