Troubled Spirits with Medium Loraine Rees is a non-fiction work which chronicles Loraine Rees' psychic abilities. It's written by Mary Ross, a scientist, and is the second book she's written as a result of her work with Rees. Rees has a spirit guide, Ramos, who lived in ancient Egypt, and she seems to have an innate ability to communicate with spirits. Mary Ross found that she also had a psychic skill -- that of psychic drawing, and she's often uncannily accurate in sketching the lost loved ones of Rees' clients. Much of Rees' work is done for people who have lost loved ones; however, for this work, she also conducted a series of walks through England wherein she communicated with troubled spirits, both of victims and transgressors who are still bound to the earth.
I grew up reading about parapsychology and the studies of Joseph Banks Rhine so I was quite intrigued with Dr. Ross' book, Troubled Spirits with Medium Loraine Rees. The walks through England are fascinating, especially the Ripper walk, where Rees proposes some rather interesting theories on the Ripper's identity based on the communications she received during the walk. Ross is dispassionate in her chronicles and discusses her own questions about, and hopes for, something after this life. She includes a number of photographs with ghostly images or lights and her own spirit drawings so the reader can draw their own conclusions about Rees' work. Troubled Spirits with Medium Loraine Rees is an impressive and well-written book that gave me a lot to think about. I'm glad I read it and recommend it to others with an interest in parapsychology and spiritualism.
