Immerse yourself in an absorbing contemporary romance tale with C.H. Eryl's second book in the Clover Springs Series, Treat Me. Forced to start her life anew after a messy divorce from her cheating ex-husband, Charlie Tucker has managed to turn things around nicely, successfully running a bakery shop on her own. But things begin to unravel when Jake Armand, son of ranch owner Quincy Armand, opens up another bakery shop in the neighborhood and plays a humiliating prank on her on the opening day. Meanwhile, Brazo Derns, a foreman at Quincy's ranch, strikes up a bond with Charlie that soon blossoms into a romance. However, Jake is determined to have Charlie for himself and won't let anything or anyone get in the way. Will Charlie and Brazo end up together?
This is the second book I've read in the Clover Springs Series, and so far, I've found that C.H. Eryl has a knack for crafting memorable characters and romance plots that leave you with hope and a smile on your face. For the first few pages or so, you get the impression that this is a love triangle, but then, the narrative turns its focus on Charlie and Brazo as the two main central characters and the primary love story revolves around them. I liked how Charlie and Brazo complemented each other and had playful banter between them, making their scenes a joy to go through. There were also a couple of curveballs in the plot that I was not expecting. All in all, Treat Me is another heartwarming romance novel by C.H. Eryl. A treat for contemporary romance readers!
