Timmy's On Time by Anna Maria Prezio Ph.D., is a children's storybook that follows an eight-year-old boy named Timmy who tells his mother that he will return from his friend Norman's house before 8:00 PM. Having had their dinner and finished their school work, Timmy returns home before his curfew and decides not to disturb his parents' party. He quietly opens the door to his bedroom and goes to sleep. However, his parents and friends start panicking because they think he is missing. This leads to a commotion and becomes a cause for concern for the neighbors and the police. Fortunately, all their worries are put to rest when Timmy hears the crowd's noise and comes out to reassure everyone that he is okay.
Timmy's On Time is a delightful and relatable tale that aims to teach children the importance of communication. Through Timmy's adventure, children learn that keeping their loved ones informed can prevent unnecessary worry and promote a sense of safety and trust. Anna Maria Prezio uses a simple yet engaging style to narrate this story, making it a must-read for young readers. The story is realistic and could happen to both children and adults. The lessons on safety and obeying parents are effectively blended into the narration, encouraging children to communicate their plans and adhere to curfews. The best part of this book is the realistic illustrations that bring the characters and story to life. They reflect a 20th-century vintage lifestyle, adding a unique touch. Overall, this is a fun story, and I recommend sharing it with your children to teach them the importance of communication and responsibility.
