In Time Stealers: Hope Eternal by Penny Clauss, having successfully warded off impending disaster on the Day of the Wraith, Grant and his fellow Timekeepers turn their attention toward discovering the identity of the evil timekeeper who has been using their gifts for nefarious purposes. Before they can gather to strategize, Charlotte, Grant’s love interest and the only female Timekeeper everyone believes is the chosen one, goes missing. The Timekeepers must come together to find their lost member quickly as an ancient evil has found its way to Earth and is preparing to consume this world as it did to others.
Time Stealers: Hope Eternal is the second book in Penny Clauss's entertaining trilogy. The narrative weaves two subplots with action and romance elements to create a fast-paced, flowing story that readers will not want to put down. With the leaders of the Time Wraiths returning after a protracted absence, an imminent civil war is brewing. In the romantic subplot, Grant attempts to persuade Charlotte of his sincerity without interfering with her evolving role as the Timekeepers' new leader. Clauss skillfully transitions between the two, using candid dialogue between the main characters. With in-depth explanations of the Time Wraiths' origins in cleverly placed flashbacks, Clauss's masterful storytelling brings readers up to speed on an immersive series that grows more entertaining with each installment. Action fans will love the meticulously detailed battles between the various Wraith factions, while adventure fans will relish the protagonists' methodical search for hidden artifacts. I enjoyed this captivating novel and look forward to the sequel.
