Tim Tim and The Birthday Party Animals is a children's picture book written by Taylor Robert Wyatt and Angelo Misseri, with illustrations by Steff Egan. The story is about a young boy named Billy, who is turning six years old soon. Billy is struggling with anxiety and a stutter and, as his birthday approaches, he starts feeling overwhelmed and thinks that he is too different to have any friends. His two dads try to cheer him up by giving him a fluffy blue monkey named Tim Tim, which brings him joy but does not alleviate his anxiety. Tim Tim intervenes by introducing Billy to his group of animal friends. Together, they help Billy learn how to manage his anxiety and cope with the fear of nobody showing up at his birthday party. Follow Billy's journey as he learns to overcome his anxiety with the help of his new friend, Tim Tim.
Tim Tim and The Birthday Party Animals is a heartwarming story with interesting characters and a profound message about being true to oneself and having the courage to make friends. Billy is a relatable character who struggles with a familiar condition that many introverts can resonate with. The fear of going out and being judged by people who know nothing about you can be scary. Fortunately, Tim Tim helps him gain confidence and belief in himself. Taylor Robert Wyatt and Angelo Misseri did an excellent job with this story, adding little details like Billy's stutter and rhyming words, made it engaging and fun to read. The book's illustrations perfectly complement the story and bring the characters to life. I love that a dark background is used whenever Billy is fearful and a bright one when he is happy. This book is a must-read for anyone with anxiety and who has a hard time making friends. Great work!
