Tickled Grey by Linda S. Amstutz is a book filled with plenty of humour and anecdotes. She portrays her perception of growing old by including some very funny moments of her life. Her husband is referenced throughout as Mr Romance, as well as her children, grandchildren and not forgetting the dog. There is a great deal which has been packed into this story, from the first time she noticed a grey hair to her writing her own obituary. The range of experiences are diverse but each one is unique and very funny.
Linda S. Amstutz has indeed delivered a very amusing and quirky book in Tickled Grey. The title fits extremely well with the content and I found this so entertaining. I loved the author's outlook on life, revealed in her experiences which she shares with the reader. What made the book so viable was the way in which I could relate to her stories; it made me understand her humour better and appreciate it. I found the chapter on the hair dying scenario extremely funny and liberating and there will be many women out there who can identify with this, even myself. The relationship between Linda and her husband was lovely and I could just imagine the two of them as they go about their lives. This joyful book draws the reader in until they are hooked, and tears of laughter will flow. Amstutz shows a flair for life and is not afraid to think about death, but it is done is such a way that captures one's heart.
