Thunder and Lightning is a good romantic story. Camille and her twin brother Ujesh had a black slave mother and their father is the much feared Great Hawk, a famous Indian chief. Camille watched as her mother was killed and then she narrowly misses being raped and killed as well. She suffers from not remembering who or where she belongs and when she does remember she finds herself far from home. Camille finds herself in trouble again when she is attacked in an alley by two men. As she runs away from her attackers, she crashes into a handsome young white man.

Jake Garrett, a former Confederate soldier, is running from his past and trying to forget all of the killing he has done in the war. Jake immediately protects Camille, brings her home, then stays to make sure the bad guys haven't followed them. Camille is planning to travel to where she believes her father, brother, and tribe are living and she asks Jake to go along as her bodyguard. Jake readily agrees and the two set off. As they travel, they form a strong bond of love for each other. They marry and soon have to deal with an assortment of troubles. It takes murder, death, and separation for them to realize their true deep feelings for each other.

Thunder and Lightning is a page turner that will have you hooked from the first sentence. I was emotionally attached to both Camille and Jake because Amber Mosby made them real people. My imagination was captured and I was pulled into the story and could not help but cheer them both on. If you like cowboys and Indians, history, romance, suspense and excitement this is a must-read book. I highly recommend it -– there is something for every reader.
