Threshold by Kevin Barry O’Connor was written over a period of approximately 2 months in 2021, highlighting the devastation that Covid19 caused and the reaction of certain disenfranchised groups; how they try to take advantage of a world trying to recover from a devastating situation. Each character in their own way tiptoes and dances through the book like willow o' wisps, taking the reader on a journey of intrigue, greed, corruption, death and joy. At times the reader will find themselves reduced to tears. At times they will find themselves angry and furious and, at times, will even smile and laugh at the characters as they march through the book and their lives.
Threshold by Kevin Barry O’Connor catches your interest from the first page and has the reader following the characters as they struggle with their lives, reality, and the world around them, until the unusual and unexpected ending. The author uses his characters in such a way that they draw the reader into the plot from the first page to the last. The author has brought to life in a very interesting way how people will take advantage of situations the world may find itself in, whether good or bad. Thank you, Kevin, for a lovely read. I highly recommend it as a book well worth the time spent reading it.
