Author Biography

Daley James Francis has been writing stories since he was a kid. The only things that have changed over time is his spelling and the size of his beard.

He has been a freelance writer since graduating from De Montfort University with a degree in Creative Writing and Journalism in 2012, and in that time, has written for many publications, written and produced short films that have been shown in festivals all over the world, and watched a life-threatening number of episodes of The Wright Stuff.

He lives in Loughborough with his wife and addiction to Netflix.

In This Book Belongs To by Daley James Francis, young readers are taken on a whimsical journey along with Amy Carr, a journey that opens up a whole new world of creativity and imagination. It's a story of magic, adventure and family. Amy Carr realizes that the sketchbook she discovers in the ruins is not an ordinary one. Whatever she draws in it comes to life, and things change when Amy starts sketching giant dragons and spiders. As she goes on having fun with the sketchbook, men in black shades and suits come to take the book back and put a stop to the chaos it is causing in the town.

The book has mystery, humor, creativity and magic and will captivate readers till the very end. All the characters are vividly sketched. Amy's character is well portrayed and she is a lovable, naughty and normal child who is very relatable. A highly original and innovative story, this book will motivate and inspire readers to stretch beyond the usual and refrain from creating barriers when it comes to thinking. The author takes readers on a magical journey with Amy. The black and white illustrations do justice to the story; they convey and complement the author's thoughts on the scenes and characters nicely. It is a book that can be used for reading sessions and also to encourage free thinking among kids that will help them become more imaginative.
