As a pastor with over forty years doing marriage counseling with hundreds of couples, I highly recommend this book to any couple seeking a closer walk with God and a deeper love for each other. Many people will be enraged with Ginger Taylor and her book—The Woman’s Curse: The Lies of Submission and the Truth that Will Set You Free—because of its solidly biblical stance. Ginger explains what submission is and why God requires it in this book. A woman’s submission to her own husband allows her unbelievable freedom. God is responsible for changing the husband. I had to remind my counselees to get out of the way and let God do His job. Lack of submission is either a lack of faith in the love and power of God or downright rebellion against God’s order for marriage and society. Ginger speaks the truth, and many people today don’t want the truth.

Ginger Taylor is not just a great writer but also a wonderful example of what The Woman’s Curse is about. She shares her life experiences that apply to following Christ and living in submission. Ginger is the mother of seven children, a Bible study leader, a submissive wife, and a godly example for women. While this book is not infallible or inspired in the same manner as the Bible, God encouraged Ginger to write it. As you read how God changed Ginger from a rebellious female to a godly, submissive wife, you will realize that submission is not only possible but also preferable. God’s Word is used throughout this book and is the basis for submission. A life based on biblical principles is a life worth emulating. I highly recommend this book be read by both women and men. When we understand what submission means, we can practice it better. Note to men: Ginger does not go easy on men either but calls on them to submit to the leadership of God and love their wives as Christ loves the church.

In today’s world, women are at odds with submissiveness in their relationships, especially in marriage. Many women have the wrong idea of what the Christian term of submission means in marriage. We increasingly see strong women who take on the man’s Godly authoritative task, throwing many marriages off balance. This undermines the man and emasculates him to a point where his self-worth is broken down. In The Woman’s Curse: The Lies of Submission and the Truth that Will Set You Free, Ginger Taylor has compiled an in-depth Bible study that critically examines the biblical concept of submission and how it affects relationships. She described her marriage when she did not understand the concept and what her second marriage looks like now that she has grasped the true meaning of biblical submission. This excellent study guide is precisely what young Christian women need to understand how we can still be strong women and be in a Godly submissive marriage. Ginger Taylor writes in an easily understandable and relatable way that is easy to read and identify with.

In The Woman’s Curse, Ginger Taylor has taken her own experiences as examples of where she thought and acted outside the submissive biblical guidelines and how it reflected in her relationships. She uses examples from the Bible where women obeyed their husbands but remained strong. Sarah is one of the most used examples. Ginger Taylor makes it clear throughout the book that there is nothing new under the sun; the women from the Bible were strong women who either submitted and obeyed their husbands or did not and they had to bear the consequences. The central theme that stood out for me is the peace and joy that comes to a Christian marriage when the woman assumes her God-given role and allows the man to be the head of the household as commanded by God.

In a world where gender equality advocacy has skyrocketed, the biblical marriage standard seems to be declining. Many women now want to control their husbands instead of vice versa. Ginger Taylor traces this attitude of women to the biblical curse in the Garden of Eden after the fall of man. Ginger Taylor uses her book The Woman’s Curse to highlight the original position of women in marriage. She emphasizes the need for the woman always to be subject to the dominance and authority of her husband and to obey him at all times. Using her first marriage as an example, she points out the mistakes made there and her conscious efforts not to repeat them in her second marriage. She has taught her daughter this and wishes every woman would abide by this biblical principle to have a long-lasting and fruitful marriage.

The first thing I enjoyed about The Woman’s Curse is the fun stories the author uses to support her point. She always has an experience she is willing to share to explain the point she is trying to make. This will help women know that it is realistic and attainable. Another remarkable thing about The Woman’s Curse is the Bible stories and verses Ginger uses to explain her views on marriage. The Bible is the primary source of her view, and she provides sufficient evidence from the Bible to substantiate her views. The author also touches on Christian living, especially politics, and how Christians must make the gospel of Jesus Christ paramount to political beliefs and leanings. Most of Ginger Taylor’s views in The Woman’s Curse can also be used as a discourse topic. I recommend The Woman’s Curse to every woman who wishes to follow the biblical standard of marriage.

Ginger Taylor draws from her marital experiences and biblical teachings to offer advice about marriage in her relationship guide, The Woman’s Curse: The Lies of Submission and the Truth that Will Set You Free. Taylor documents the lessons she has learned about involving the Holy Spirit in her marriage, viewing authority and submission from a biblical perspective, and the woman’s role in a marriage, including building her husband up. She also shares the habits she has had to unlearn as a wife. The work discusses what respect and obedience in a marriage involve. It examines biblical and historical female figures, such as Isaac’s wife Rebekah, and draws lessons about marriage.

Taylor is candid about her mistakes and includes experience-based insight into what makes a marriage work. I loved that the content is timely and offers advice on issues affecting marital relationships. The book’s emphasis on respect and encouragement in a marriage is also useful. Discussions about other topics, such as divorce, parenting, and handling conflict in a marriage, are enlightening. At the end of each chapter, it includes helpful questions that provide room for reflection and helps recall the main points covered. The work includes anecdotes, accounts from the Bible, and historical stories that enliven it and help expound its discussions. Its inclusion of other views about marriage from external sources further elucidates the topics. The Woman’s Curse by Ginger Taylor is a thought-provoking work that discusses a woman's role in a marriage.

Most women regard themselves as equal to men and have a hard stance against submission and chauvinism, which they know little about other than the fallacy that it is demeaning and patronizing, something they would not want to associate themselves with. The Woman's Curse by Ginger Taylor opens women's eyes to see that submission is freeing and wonderful. Ginger discusses why readers should respect positions of authority while urging wives to respect, obey, and build their husbands rather than tear them apart to live a fulfilling, loving, and happy married life. As a divorcee, she advises women that when they no longer feel love for their husbands or are undergoing difficult circumstances, they should remember that God is involved and let Him take over.

Ginger Taylor uses biblical verses to reinforce her arguments and provide reference sources. These verses will help the reader understand her message and learn how God wants them to live and handle challenges presented in their married lives. The many real-life stories are relatable to readers and enable them to understand that through seeking God's guidance, they can change their old ways of living and adopt the new godly way of living. The questions at the end of each topic summarize the chapter and engage the reader by assessing their inner conflicts to understand themselves better. I recommend The Woman's Curse to married and yet-to-marry couples since Ginger's vast wisdom and knowledge will help them live godly lives that will bring them love, peace, success, and happiness.

Great reminder about what it really means to be submissive. This book explains it so well and not in a way that sets women back, but in way that reminds us to build our men up. We are one flesh, so when we tear our husbands down, we tear ourselves down too. When we submit to our husbands, they are able to rise for us. We both live to serve, but in different ways.

Any author who takes the examples of scripture and brings them to life and in to a marriage has surrendered to a deep spiritual understanding. To convey it in the way the author has helps bring you to a greater understanding of a Christ centered marriage and family. To be honest and share experiences that are related to nearly every marriage make this book so valuable. The world today does not embrace the principles of a biblical, Christ centered marriage, so it is refreshing to read this book and really bring you back to the call of couples in a marriage. When the scripture comes to life, it permits a much great harmony in marriages and outflows in to other Christ centered relationships as parents, friends. This book really requires slowing down, studying and conversation to being out the true lessons! I pray this publication becomes mainstream in marriage classes to save couples the hardships many of us are struggling with and have for years.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "The Woman's Curse: The Lies of Submission and the Truth that Will Set You Free"! It helped me to take a look at my own marriage and how my actions towards my husband affect our marriage. As a Christian for many years, a lot of what is talked about are things that I've been taught over time, but fail to apply them to my life or just don't think about them or talk about them.

This is written in a way that is funny, engaging, heartfelt, and most importantly, relatable! I was touched and challenged throughout the book. When I got to chapter 15, Women in History, it made me want to grab my Bible and read over these stories again and again. The Bible Study questions that follow each chapter are an amazing addition and thought provoking! I highly recommend this book to any Christian woman looking to learn more about God, His Word, your husband, and your self!
