The Windflower by author Laura London is a delightful romance. In it we find Merry Wilding, a young woman of innocence, beauty and a talented artist, has been taken captive by pirates on her way to England. Despite threats to the contrary, Merry is not in danger. Merry is consistently told the crew and Devon are a dangerous lot. But in reality, Merry is fiercely protected by the crew. Rand Morgan, the Windflower’s captain, appears to be the evil villain in this exciting romance. It is only toward the end of the book that we learn Morgan’s true character and his motivations.

The Windflower was written by Laura London, aka Sharon and Tom Curtis. The authors are masters of characterization. Cat was one of my favorites. This book was actually first released about 30 years ago. I suspect it will be just as popular with current readers as it was with previous ones. Surprisingly, the authors leapt into new territory in this book with the bisexual characters. How can fans of romance not love The Windflower when it is filled with sweet romance and humor - what more could we ask for? It was fun watching as Devon and Merry fell in love. Their romance was filled with humor as well as passion. This is historical romance at its finest. This review of The Windflower is of the audio format. It was read by Christa Lewis. Her voice had just the right inflection and I stayed up late listening. It is easy to recommend The Windflower.
