Author Biography

Douglas Falk was born in Stockholm, Sweden on May 15th 1992. The son of a journalist and an accountant, he was raised in the borough of Norrmalm. After graduating from senior high school, he applied to a five-year long English teaching course at Stockholm University. He eventually came to the realization that a career in teaching was not his calling, and dropped out after a year to pursue his dream profession – writing.

During his later years, he developed a fascination for conspiracy theories on his leisure time and researched them frantically on a daily basis. When he finally put pen to paper with the first script of The Voyage in late 2017, there was no shred of doubt in his mind about what the focal point of the novel would be.

Falk’s debut fiction novel will explore the mother of all conspiracy theories herself: the flat Earth theory. THE VOYAGE, a thriller/adventure novel in the same vein of Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon series & Michael Crichton’s speculative works, was released on December 3, 2019 – with the sequel THE RAPTURE scheduled for a 2021 release.

The Voyage by Douglas Falk is a thriller mystery about a topic that is completely original, at least to my knowledge. It’s about the flat earth theory, or “conspiracy” might be more accurate. The story follows two young men who set out to prove that the earth is indeed flat. To do that they must literally travel to the ends of the earth. What starts out as two young men with good intentions, setting out to change the world for the better, ends up being a dangerous and soul-stirring adventure.

The Voyage ends up being a great book and well worth the read, but I must warn readers that it starts off slowly. If you can get past the long conversations at the beginning, you’ll be well rewarded with a story full of strong characters, an edge of your seat plot, and the answers to some of life’s biggest questions. Douglas Falk’s writing style is comfortable and authentic. Even though the idea of a flat earth seems preposterous at the beginning, the characters in the story do an excellent job of giving it credibility with lots of examples throughout history that show how the idea could actually be true. It’s a sign that the author has done his homework and based his story in enough real-world science to give his story firm legs to stand on. Being about something as bizarre as the earth being flat made it feel very fresh. The Voyage is a one-of-a-kind book and well worth the read.
