As they go up high it is windy and they can see the squirrels running and hiding. They go even higher and reach the tip of the mountainside. They are all happy and they have a snowball fight with each other and glide down the ice slopes. They rest for a while but they know they have to return by sunset. The Javelinas have fun in the snow and it is a change for them from the heat of the desert.

This is a simple and adorable story that will bring a smile to the faces of readers. The rhyming verses also capture the heat and the cold of Arizona in a delightful way. Rondi Kutz makes the story even more captivating with her wonderful illustrations which are bright and colorful. They breathe life into the characters, and the maps will give readers an idea about the route to the mountains in Northern Arizona. The story is good to help children experience the beauty of snow.
